ADSL sync is the connection between your computer and your local BT exchange. Establishing ADSL sync can take as long as 5 minutes but usually no longer than 1 minute, the status of ADSL sync in indicated by the DSL light on the modem. Please do not try to login to the service until this light has stopped flashing and has turned solid green. ***note***If the modem is taking a very long time or never gets ADSL sync, try the following steps: A. Check to see if you have a dial tone on the line and that is connected to the correct phone number dial 17070 and the line number will be read out to you. If you have no dial tone then there may be a problem with your phone line, contact BT (or other phone supplier) on 0800 800 151 for residential or 0800 800 154 for business to log the fault. If the number is incorrect find the correct line and test from there. B. Make sure that ADSL micro-filters are installed on every phone socket that has a device plugged in to it. A device is anything that can be plugged in or wired in to a phone line, for example: phones, fax machines, sky or digital TV set top boxes, analogue modems or external ringer boxes. C. Unplug every device and extension cable that is plugged in to the phone line that the ADSL is on except the ADSL modem and retest. D. Test the connection from the master BT phone socket. If you are still unable to connect please contact ADSL Support on 0870 7433100
